“All Together Dead” by Charlaine Harris (Book 7 of Sookie books). Because of the threat of library fees I finished the last 80 pages pretty quickly – I can read fast when I need too. It helps that this was the crux of the plot and it was interesting. Once I got past the first one hundred pages of the book, once Sookie leaves for her vampire conference the plot really picks up and the book becomes very good. It is the first hundred pages that dragged and made me roll my eyes. I really liked that there were three unrelated threats going on with three different groups plotting something: the queen, the hotel guy and the Fellowship. That was a nice twist. And in this book Sookie did not get beat up, so that was something. Although she did get violated when Andre tried to force her to drink his blood and she ended up bonded to Eric pretty much against her will. I do dislike that aspect. That was really creepy. Although her decision, in the end, to let Quinn kill Andre, even if she couldn’t do it herself, and then be pretty happy about the decision was bold by the author. It is not a very heroic response but a conflicting and human one. Sookie is not perfect. But as we learned from TV and I’m thinking Fred and Gunn in particular, killing your girlfriend’s nemesis for her never turns out well. I guess I’m also pretty neutral on Quinn, I don’t know if I like him that much. Eric is more interesting to me. So, book verdict – last two-thirds very good in plot and I did enjoy it. But I really hope she doesn’t write too many sex scenes in her future books, she is really not that good at it. I don’t want to keep rolling my eyes.

I think I slept for nine hours last night. I guess I really needed it. I did have weird dreams. There might have been a vampire in one of them.

I went to the library today to return my book and I went to the post office too. Walking is nice, and it was pretty warm out today.

For some reason, I started watching “Grey’s Anatomy” this season on Thursdays. I never been into it really. I might have caught a scene here and there. Never cared for it. But this year I’ve been watching it. So I saw on Hulu that Season 1 is available for free and I watched the pilot. I might watch that first short season if I need something to watch so my brain relaxes when there is nothing else on.
