We finally put up our Christmas tree this morning. Well, New Year tree really. I even got the new ornaments on despite Mama’s previous critique of them. She generally is critical of everything. Basically I just hand her all the ornaments in a long established order and she puts it up. I did put up a couple myself - little snowmen with my and Bear’s name on them, but mostly I was a glorified assistant. It was nice to turn the tree on in the evening and look at the color lights. It is always pretty. Now I will finish wrapping presents and put them under the tree from Mama’s birthday tomorrow.

My grandmother is having heart surgery tomorrow so Papa went to visit her again tonight and drove my grandfather to the hospital too. The doctor should call us when it is done. She really really needs it, I just hope it goes without a hitch.
